“ Ashtabula, we have not experienced this amount of snow and I’ve lived here all my life,” Ashtabula City Schools Superintendent Lisa Newsome said. Classes at the high school so far are canceled for the rest of the week, school officials said. The building has been deemed unsafe for occupancy.

The Ashtabula Area City Schools announced that the district will be using calamity days for the rest of the week after persistent snowfall and a roof collapse.
