Mark Carney's Liberal Party has won the election in Canada, according to Canadian broadcasters Mr Carney, who took over as prime minister after Justin Trudeau stepped down earlier this year, beat leader of the Conservative Party Pierre Poilievre.

The Liberals maintained power in the Canada election, but it's uncertain if they will achieve a majority government.
