The frigid temperatures that greeted residents of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia to begin December will continue into the work week.

A blast of arctic air over the eastern U.S. will bring wintry weather to parts of Florida through the weekend into next week, forecasters said.

A freeze warning is in effect over parts of Northwest Florida where temperatures are expected to dip as low as 28 degrees.

Morning fog, afternoon sunshine and mild today. Scattered showers and storms expected Thanksgiving with a Marginal Risk of Severe Storms. Threats include a damaging wind gust, hail and an isolated tornado. Colder and drier weather takes over into the weekend.

The Freeze warning is shaded in purple, the Frost Advisory is shaded in blue.

Freeze warnings are in effect across North and Northeast Florida for tonight and into Sunday morning as a cold front chills the state.
