Fresno State suspended two of its top men’s basketball scorers on Saturday and removed a third player from the team amid reports that the school is the subject of gambling investigations.

Three Fresno State basketball players were held out of Saturday’s game for “eligibility reasons that could be tied to an investigation into alleged betting activity.

The woeful Fresno State men's basketball program got more bad news this weekend when two of its best players were pulled from Saturday’s game amid allegations of gambling. The school said in a statement that Jalen Weaver and Zaon Collins “are being withheld from competition as the university reviews an eligibility matter.

In August, Notre Dame suspended its men’s swimming program for at least a year after an investigation revealed several gambling violations. Former Temple basketball player Hysier Miller came under the microscope of federal authorities for allegedly point-shaving and fixing the outcome of Owls games.

Players have been held out of today’s game as the university conducts an internal investigation into an “eligibility” issue.

Jalen Weaver is the team’s second-leading scorer at 12.5 points per game while Zaon Collins is tied for third at 12.0.
