Penalties were handed down by the NCAA to the Michigan Wolverines on Friday, effectively concluding the Wolverines' recent scandal involving inappropriate sign-stealing allegations during the Jim Harbaugh era in Ann Arbor.

Rival fans were hoping for much, much worse -- so was SEC fanatic Paul Finebaum, apparently. On the Paul Finebaum Show, Finebaum opened up by bashing the NCAA on its penalties to Michigan.

While Connor Stalions and his sign-stealing operation at Michigan took center stage Friday, there was a behind-the-scenes feud bubbling over between Jim Harbaugh and the school’s compliance department in 2023.

Jim Harbaugh was given a 10-year show-cause penalty by the NCAA and Stalions got 8 years for the Wolverines' advance scouting scheme.

Also in the Michigan case, the COI ruled a 10-year show-cause penalty for Jim Harbaugh and an 8-year show-cause penalty for Connor Stalions, sources tell me and Dan Wetzel.
