Tennessee lottery officials said Thursday that the winning ticket was sold at the Mapco gas station on Central Avenue in the Cooper-Young neighborhood. The "lucky player in Memphis" matched five numbers with the Power Play option in Wednesday night's drawing to win the money, officials said.
A lottery ticket sold in Oklahoma is worth $1 million, although no one won the Powerball jackpot last night. The Powerball jackpot has now grown to approximately $700 million, with the next drawing scheduled for Saturday night.
All Arizona Lottery retailers will redeem prizes up to $100 and may redeem winnings up to $599. For prizes over $599, winners can submit winning tickets through the mail or in person at Arizona Lottery offices. The Montgomery County man, who is a “once-in-a-while” lottery player, bought aPowerball ticket while stopping for gas in Gaithersburg on Aug. 16, according to an Aug. 21 news release by the Maryland Lottery. The auto industry worker had no idea the ticket he bought would be worth a $50,000 prize, officials said.
