Linebacker Mikai Gbayor became the fifth Nebraska player — and fourth defender — to announce Monday his intent to transfer this month.

Another Blackshirt is planning to enter the transfer portal. Mikai Gbayor is now the third Blackshirt planning to enter the portal, joining Stefon Thompson and Vincent Jackson. Gbayor arrived in Nebraska in 2021 but didn't step on the field until 2023.
