MINNEAPOLIS — Northern Minnesota will see snow Monday, but the Twin Cities will stay mostly dry as temperatures plummet. Snow will continue throughout the day in the Arrowhead. The metro could see some light rain that transitions to light snow.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for areas of Carlton and St. Louis counties in northeastern Minnesota, and Douglas County in western Wisconsin until noon on Monday. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Fond du Lac Band and the Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake and, Lake Vermilion areas.

A winter weather advisory is in effect in northern Minnesota, where up to 7 inches of snow could fall along the North Shore. Weather officials say that between 2 and 5 inches of snow will be widespread in northeastern and northern Minnesota, with snow starting Sunday night and then tapering off during the day on Monday.
