Chairman Abraham George recently traveled to Illinois to join Republicans there in denouncing Texas Democrats.

California voters in 2010 gave the power to draw congressional maps to an independent commission, with the goal of making the process less partisan. The commission last redrew maps following the 2020 census, and the maps were in place for the 2022 and 2024 U.S. House elections.

For Republicans, Vice President JD Vance leads the pack with 45 percent of the vote, followed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz with 9 percent, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Secretary of State Marco Rubio with 6 percent apiece and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy with 5 percent. The poll shows 17 percent are undecided.
