The Summerlin South Little League team came up short on Wednesday, losing to Metro Region Fairfield, Connecticut. It was a battle of two previously undefeated teams. Fairfield handed the Mountain Region champions their first loss of the Little League World Series.

The Summerlin South All-Stars will face Metro Region champion Fairfield National (Connecticut) in the 2025 Little League World Series. First pitch is scheduled for noon PT. The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to play in the U.S. championship game on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Still one win away from Saturday's U.S. championship, the Mountain region champs will now play an elimination game on Thursday.

A Little League World Series coach is taking a lot of heat for a move people are calling “classless” while his team was already up 13-0. Nevada’s Summerlin South All-Stars crushed Illinois in Wednesday’s opener, winning 16-1 without much of a fight.
