Ted Lasso writer, Brett Goldstein, who also plays Roy Kent, has come out to convey that the Apple TV+ series is indeed a modern-day adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. The confession comes in the wake of the release of Wicked,

Since the show's premiere, fan theories have broken down everything from Roy Kent's tie-dye yellow brick road-esque shirt to Ted's red sneakers to the Wizard of Oz themed pinball machine in the show's penultimate episode.
