The United States will have access to Ukraine's critical mineral wealth, including key ingredients for the clean energy transition, under a deal the two countries are expected to sign later this week.

Ukraine said on Wednesday that it had reached a framework agreement with the United States on jointly developing Ukraine’s natural resources including rare earths, critical minerals, oil and gas.

Ukraine has agreed the terms of a major minerals deal with the US, a senior official in Kyiv has told the BBC. "We have indeed agreed it with a number of good amendments and see it as a positive outcome," the official said, without providing any further details.
