McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown has shared his concerns about Max Verstappen's potential move to the Mercedes F1 team, saying he would be a bigger threat than he is at Red Bull. George Russell recently admitted that his contract extension was on hold amid ongoing talks between Mercedes and Verstappen.

Reigning four-time Formula One champion Max Verstappen is reportedly considering changing teams for the 2026 season.

Although the 27-year-old is currently contracted to Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season, both team principal Christian Horner and motorsport advisor Helmut Marko have alluded to an exit clause in Verstappen's contract which could allow him to exit the team at the end of this year.
