A man accused of shooting at law enforcement and into homes is dead after an hours-long standoff in Central Florida on Thanksgiving Day.

DiFusco, 56, was staying at an Airbnb while visiting from Connecticut and it’s believed he brought a weapon and ammunition with him, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. The publication reported DiFusco was a convicted felon on firearm offenses.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said a suspect involved in a standoff at the Kingston Shore Condos was killed by a sniper after firing multiple shots at neighboring condos.

No one else was hurt, but the sheriff's office shared photos of the apartment building riddled with bullet holes.

The gunman, who was a veteran from Connecticut, was having a mental health crisis, according to the sheriff's office.
