SAN DIEGO — California Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones introduced a bill this week that would make it harder for local law enforcement in California to resist cooperating with immigration authorities.

California State Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones is leading the effort for the proposal of a bill to overhaul California’s sanctuary state law.

The proposed law, SB 554, is titled “Safety Before Criminal Sanctuary,” and is a direct response to a policy passed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors last December.
