Clayton helped lead Florida to a huge comeback to stun Houston and grab a 65-63 win in the national championship game in San Antonio, Texas. Clayton, despite a very slow start in the title game that saw him go more than 25 minutes without scoring, was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player.

Florida roared back from a 12-point deficit to stun Houston and claim the program's first national championship since 2007 on Monday night, 65-63. The Gators trailed 42-30 early in the second half before finding the same late surge that carried them past Auburn in the Final Four on Saturday.

Florida has advanced to the national championship game for the first time since 2007 after beating No. 1 overall seed Auburn 79-73 in the Final Four. Walter Clayton Jr. was seriously impressive for the Gators, leading all players with 34 points on 11 of 18 shooting.
