Disney’s Moana 2 sailed past the box-office doldrums of 2024 and crested all riptides of financial expectation to solidify a new record as the biggest-ever Thanksgiving blockbuster: $221 million domestically over the holiday corridor.

Moana 2 has beaten both Wicked and Gladiator II at the box office over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend. Per Deadline, Moana 2 made $135.5 million during its opening weekend; although, the movie technically opened on Wednesday and therefore made $221 million during its five-day opening Thanksgiving weekend.
