The Celebrity Equinox arrived at its new homeport earlier Tuesday. The cruise ship sailed into Port Canaveral less than a week after the entrance of the Caribbean Princess, making Celebrity the port’s seventh major cruise line operator.

Celebrity Equinox becomes the first ship in the Celebrity Cruises fleet to begin sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida.

The cruise line that touts its connection to “The Love Boat” made its debut from Port Canaveral on with the arrival of its first ship to call the Orlando-area port home. Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess made its way to the port late in November to begin a winter of mostly six- and eight-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

Celebrity Cruises now sails from Port Canaveral and plans to expand in 2025, offering travelers seven-night Caribbean cruises with destinations including the Bahamas, St. Maarten and Puerto Rico.

Celebrity Cruises launched its inaugural homeporting season in Port Canaveral this week with the Celebrity Equinox. According to Port Canaveral, the vessel has become the 15th vessel to be homeported in its cruise terminals.
