Boxer wins $470m with Africa's biggest IPO this year
The all primary IPO raised R8.5bn ($470m) for Boxer, making it the largest flotation in Africa this year. The IPO price values Boxer at R24.7bn ($1.4bn). The selling shareholder will float 157.4m shares, a 34.4% stake, assuming the greenshoe is exercised in full. The greenshoe consists of 9.3m primary shares for about R500m ($28m).
Bonanza Boxer listing in big year for JSE
Boxer is the biggest JSE listing this year, with an expected valuation of up to R25 billion. In the first listing of 2024 in April, WeBuyCars came to the market at over R8 billion. Another big brand listing was Rainbow Chicken on 1 July, with a market cap of just over R3 billion.
