Recently, actor Dhanush filed a lawsuit against Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan for using three seconds of footage from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in their Netflix docu-drama Nayanthara: Beyond Fairytale.

Actor Dhanush recently filed a civil lawsuit against Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Shivan. The case is about a three-second clip from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (NRD) being used in the actress’ Netflix documentary titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, produced by Wunderbar Movies, featured Nayanthara. Dhanush claims that the documentary used the movie's footage without his prior consent.

Following the open letter and controversy surrounding the documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, actor Dhanush has finally launched a civil lawsuit against the actress and her husband Vignesh Shivan.

The duo's fight is far from over as the actor's Wunderbar Films Private Limited has sued Nayanthara and her director-husband Vignesh Shivan, her Rowdy Pictures Private Limited, and two others for using visuals from his movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in a Netflix documentary titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

The dispute began when Nayanthara accused Dhanush of pressuring her and blocking her from using footage from their film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary.

The lawyer said that the footage used in the documentary was a part of the actor’s “personal library,” and did not belong to Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films Private Limited.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's lawyer has responded to Dhanush's civil suit. A few days ago Dhanush had filed a civil lawsuit against Nayanthara and her husband over the use of a three-second clip from his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in their Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond Fairytale.

Nayanthara and Dhanush's legal battle is the talk of the town. On November 27, the actor filed a legal suit in the Madras High Court against the actress for violating copyright laws. Now, Nayanthara's lawyer has responded to Dhanush's claim that she used a three-second clip from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale without an NOC.
