The Social Security Administration this week sent out an email to many Americans celebrating the passage of President Donald Trump’s domestic policy bill, and touting the measure’s tax relief for seniors, in a move that analysts said strayed from the agency’s typically apolitical nature.

Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano lauded the $3.4 trillion fiscal tax package bill passed by the US House this week for providing tax relief to millions of older Americans.

The newly passed legislation awaits Trump's signature in a White House ceremony on Friday following a 218-214 vote in the House.
