Kpop Demon Hunters has proven to be one of the biggest success stories in Netflix history, but Sony, who provided the animation, missed a massive payday.

Sony Pictures had a tough summer at the box office. The studio didn’t release a single movie that made $500 million from May to August, and its biggest hit of the year, 28 Years Later, only made $150 million worldwide.

The directors of “KPop Demon Hunters,” the popular animated musical film from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, are among a packed lineup of participants at October’s VIEW Conference in Turin, Italy.
