In Mexico, Chávez, 39, faces charges of organized crime affiliation and arms trafficking, Mexican authorities say.

Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been deported to Mexico, where he's wanted for alleged cartel ties, following his arrest in the U.S. for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application.

It is claimed that the four-year investigation into Chávez began in 2019 and found him to have ties to the Sinaloa Cartel, with a warrant issued for his arrest in Mexico in 2023.
