( MENAFN - IANS) Kohima/Gangtok, Dec 2 (IANS) Sikkim tourism Minister Tshering Thendup Bhutia, met his Nagaland counterpart Temjen Imna Along at the tourist Information Centre, Kisama in Kohima on Monday on the sideline of Hornbill festival, officials said.

The 25th Hornbill Festival in Nagaland kickstarts, and this year, it coincided with the state's 62nd Statehood Day. This festival showcases traditional Naga culture with performances, indigenous games,

Hornbill is a 10 day long festival in Nagaland which brings together all generations from 17 different tribes to showcase their culture. The festival happens in Naga heritage village in Kisama where tribal groups perform dances, sports unique to their tribe.

The 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival commenced today at Kisama Heritage Village, Nagaland, with Sikkim participating as the Partner State. This year's event holds special significance, celebrating the festival's silver jubilee since its inception in 2000.
