Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Ketel Marte has issued an apology in the wake of a report about some teammates being upset about his recent absences.

On Thursday night, an article published by long-time Diamondbacks beat writer Nick Piecoro set the D-backs fanbase into a frenzy. I’m sure everyone is aware of the article and its contents at this point, but on the off chance you haven’t, please read it here before reading further.

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ season is long over, but a battle is brewing in the Valley of the Sun over local media’s coverage of All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte. Marte has been a key figure for the D-Backs for two seasons now.

A day after his go-ahead, ninth-inning homer from the right side of the plate, Ketel Marte did the same from the left side in a Diamondbacks win.
