CHOSITI, India (AP) — Flash floods triggered by torrential rains have killed over 200 people and left scores others missing in India and Pakistan over the past 24 hours, officials said Friday, as rescuers brought to safety some 1,600 people from two mountainous districts in the neighboring countries.

So far, this monsoon season has seen four major cloudbursts, including in India's Uttarakhand, India and Pakistan's Buner.

Cloudbursts, massive downpours that deliver over 100mm (4 inches) of rain in a single hour, have caused devastating floods in both Pakistan and India during this monsoon season, claiming hundreds of lives.
