President Trump is set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders on Monday as the U.S. pursues a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

Ahead of the meeting, Trump appeared to place the onus of ending the war on the Ukrainian leader, while emphasizing that Ukraine must give up Russian-annexed Crimea and its hopes of joining NATO — key Kremlin demands.

"We are seeing accommodation more than we've seen in the past, certainly more than we saw in the last administration," Witkoff said. "And that's encouraging. Now we have to build on that."

After meeting Vladimir Putin on Friday, President Donald Trump now has to win over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and his European allies if his efforts to broker peace have any chance of success.

In Alaska, the Russian leader proposed that Ukraine hand over the remainder of the Donbas region to Moscow to stop the fighting.

President Donald Trump traveled to Alaska on Friday in an attempt to find peace between Russia and Ukraine, telling reporters he wants the killings to end.

Under the proposed Russian deal, Kyiv would fully withdraw from the eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions in return for a Russian pledge to freeze the front lines in the southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, the sources said.

Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Trump in Washington on Monday to discuss 'ending the war' with President Donald Trump
