The Little League Baseball World Series continued Saturday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, though Mother Nature didn't exactly cooperate.
Day 5 began with a United States bracket game between Washington (Northwest region) and Massachusetts (New England). Bonney Lake, Washington edged Braintree, Massachusetts 3-2 to keep their championship hopes alive. Elsewhere, Canada scored a blowout win in the International bracket, routing Australia 12-0 in five innings.
The 2025 Little League World Series is officially off and running. Eight teams continue their quest to win it all in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Sunday in the annual summer tournament. A new winner will be crowned in 2025, too, after last year's champion, Lake Mary, Florida, was eliminated in the regional round.
Mason Mitani, Crawford and Logan Brokaw combined to allow just a single run, five hits and three walks while striking out seven. Hawai'i didn't rely on anyone to pitch too many innings, which means some of the arms should be fresher as the tournament progresses.
The 2025 Little League World Series will be in Williamsport, Pennsylvania from August 13-24 with 20 teams vying for the title.
