Faculty union wins first major settlement with university
1 day ago · This semester, Tulane Workers United, Tulane University’s faculty union, reached a settlement with the university after it failed to notify the union about an annual increase in healthcare premiums. Last fall, Tulane raised its health insurance premiums for faculty and staff, something the school has done annually since rate records date back to 2019.
Burst pipe in Monroe Hall causes mass flooding, student evacuations
3 days ago · A water pipe burst on the boys’ side of the ninth floor of Monroe Hall on Sunday night, resulting in mass flooding and causing students to evacuate and temporarily relocate for the night, according to an email from the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response.. At around 11 p.m., students were evacuated as fire alarms sounded throughout the dorm.
